THE TRIP

Grand Slam!

Unparalleled bonefishing is just minutes from the El Pescador Lodge.  Whether you prefer casting from the boat or wading in the easily accessible surrounding flats, the thrill of bonefishing is right at your fingertips. The flats surrounding El Pescador Lodge has bonefish ranging from 2 to 5 pounds—plentiful and eagerly awaiting your fly. Our prime location ensures plenty of opportunities to cast to bonefish everyday.

The pursuit of Permit is a thrilling adventure that unfolds on the same Bonefish flats and extends to many of the Tarpon flats as well. The challenge and excitement of encountering these elusive and revered sportfish in their natural habitat will elevate the heart rate of even the most experienced angler. The  Permit are often found in large schools and range from 4 to 30 pounds, with the majority averaging around 8 to 10 pounds.

The El Pescador fishery has year-round resident Tarpon over 100 lbs! In late summer we have the added bonus of a large migratory population of big fish. Rest assured that any time of year there are Tarpon to be found on the flats near the lodge, with fish in the 10-50 pound range often caught by someone staying at the lodge on a daily basis.

Anyone familiar with flats fishing knows that the Grand Slam, catching all three species in the same day, can be a daunting challenge.  On this adventure, that challenge can be a reality any day of your trip.
