Our all-inclusive package, in collaboration with ChileTrout, spans six nights of comfortable lodging and five and a half days of guided fishing. The recently renovated rustic-modern lodge overlooks the stunning Lago Frio, providing an intimate retreat for relaxation and reflection after a day of thrilling angling. Indulge in local culinary delights and desserts prepared by the skilled kitchen staff, creating a delightful experience for the food enthusiasts among us. Our journey begins in Balmaceda, Chile, where the outfitter will transport our group from the airport to the lodge near Coyhaique. Days commence with coffee and a hot breakfast in the clubhouse before venturing out to the fishing grounds.   • Ground Transportation: Experience hassle-free travel with complimentary ground transportation to and from the Balmededa airport, ensuring a smooth start and end to your Patagonian journey.


  • Meals and Drinks: Indulge in the culinary delights of local dishes and desserts prepared by the lodge's kitchen staff. All meals and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, are included, offering a delightful dining experience.

Important Information:

  • Price: The package is priced per angler/guest and is based on double occupancy, with 2 anglers/guests per room. For single angler and/or individual room options, contact the trip host for details.


  • Air Transportation to Balmaceda, Chile (BBA):
    • Travelers are responsible for arranging and purchasing their own flights to and from Balmaceda.
    • Contact Destinations Fly Fish for specific details and recommendations regarding international air transportation.


  • Flies:
    • Flies are not included as part of the package. The lodge does have them for purchase.
    • Inquire with Destinations about the availability of flies for the trip.


  • Waders & Boots:
    • Waders and boots are not included in the package.
    • Anglers are typically expected to bring their own waders and boots.
    • Inquire about rental options or seek guidance from the organizers on obtaining suitable gear.


  • Gratuities:
    • Gratuity is not included in the package price.





Rods:

  • 5wt, 6wt, and 7wt rods.

Lines:

  • Floating line
  • Intermediate sinking lines
  • Sink-tip lines

Flies:

  • Wooly Buggers (size 2-8) in various colors: black, brown, olive, white, two-tone.
  • Both Bead and Conehead flies.
  • Large Terrestrials like Fat Alberts and Hoppers (size 2-8).

Leader and Tippet:

  • Leader and tippet in 0X-3X.
  • Available in both fluorocarbon and mono.


This equipment selection covers a range of fishing scenarios, from different rod weights for versatility to various lines suitable for different water conditions. The assortment of Wooly Buggers and terrestrials, along with different types of leaders and tippets, should provide a well-rounded toolkit for targeting a variety of fish species.

Tipping?  This is probably our number one question. Tipping is definitely recommended and the standard is 15-20% of the cost of the trip.  Typically you would tip your guide at the end of each day.  If you are going to have the same guide for several days, you can arrange to tip them at the end.


It is also customary to tip the lodge staff at the end of a stay.  15-20% is standard and left with the lodge to split among the staff.
